the driver you need (seems usbhid-ups) requires libusb
just install libusb devel, configure and make again.

well, this is another problem here!
nut's internal libupsclient is not found.
I recall earlier this week, that Kjell mentioned such an issue on gentoo iirc.
but I don't recall what was the cause.
please post a complete make log (gzip'ed)
