Charles,
So I installed a minimal CentOS 6.5 installation on the Fedora box this
morning and I got the same issue.
Below are the kernel versions used.
CentOS 6.5 Minimal -
[root at nemo tmp]# uname -a
Linux nemo 2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Nov 22 03:15:09 UTC 2013 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[root at nemo tmp]# rpm -qa | grep nut
nut-2.6.5-2.el6.x86_64
nut-client-2.6.5-2.el6.x86_64
CentOS 6.5 -
[root at localhost ~]# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.32-431.23.3.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Jul 31
17:20:51 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[root at localhost ~]# rpm -qa | grep nut
nut-client-2.6.5-2.el6.x86_64
nut-2.6.5-2.el6.x86_64
Fedora 20 -
[root at nemo ~]# uname -a
Linux nemo 3.11.10-301.fc20.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Dec 5 14:01:17 UTC 2013
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[root at nemo ~]# rpm -qa | grep nut
nut-2.7.2-1.fc20.x86_64
nut-client-2.7.2-1.fc20.x86_64
As mentioned earlier I have tried another USB port and cable. Below are the
/var/log/messages - I also got a new behavior this time.

These machines are exact replicas of each other and are fairly old and have
a Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU in them. Is there anything else you need or anything
I can do to help fix this? Thanks!
