This is a great suggestion. I was not even aware of this command. I can 
not turn off that freaking beeping. and the shutdown.stayoff seems to 
shut the UPS off entirely. It does seem to be one of those commands that 
are described here <https://networkupstools.org/docs/man/upscmd.html> as 
"paranoid" and requiring multiple invocations - at least on my Belkin 
UPS. Happy new year.
