Hello Gene, good to hear from you.

Agreed.  Whats wrong?  The first thought is for the battery.  How old is it? 
Really ancient batteries behave as you describe.

If it's not the battery then we need to look at the configuration.  Do you use 
the default behaviour of upsmon which is to shutdown on status LB?

What does command « upsc <ups> battery.charge.low » report?
