I have a Synology NAS which is running NUT Server and communicating to the UPS.
Their software limits the number of NUT Clients to five which can be controlled by the NUT Server. I have spoken with them to permit more, however, that seems to be stalled.
Today I have 14 devices attached to my APC UPS giving me a runtime of about 90 minutes.
Is it possible to configure the clients to Daisy Chain the UPS Server Messages?
Today I have UPS —> Synology NUT Server <—> (5) NUT Clients
Is it possible to setup the NUT Client to act as a Relay to another NUT Client?
UPS —> Synology NUT Server <—> NUT Client/NUT Server <—> NUT Client
When I had the NUT Server on a different server and all devices monitoring that NUT server, the NAS would not shutdown in time which seems to be unstable.
The primary data that needs to be protected is on the NAS. The environment is most stable when the NAS is running the NUT Server.
The most critical servers I have attached to NAS today, but I would love the ability to shutdown the other 9 devices.
