To complete Charles answer, to fully start nut, you must call:<br>
$ upsdrvctl start<br>
$ upsd<br>
$ upsmon</p>
<p>The latter being optional for upsc, but mandatory for protection.<br>
A last hint: are you 100% sure that localhost resolves to 127.0.0.1?<br>
Try pinging localhost, or check your /etc/hosts...<br>
Or simply call 'upsc mustek'</p>
