Since I'm an admin of this list too, I changed the option

  "Filter out duplicate messages to list members (if possible)"

to "No". I believe this was the reason why I didn't have my emails back ;

Sadly, it doesn't explain why other members couldn't have John's mails
of this thread.

I'll wait until members raise this problem again.
