Well, you might, but you don't strictly have to. FWIW I find the gmane archive to be
amazingly searchable if you want to avoid the usual overhead of a mailing list
subscription:

Just my 2ct, though.

Anyway, I find it funny enough that the erroneous code seems to be rather old
