As I already said in my yesterdays mail. I am not so sure we should
simply delete local mail if something seems to have gone wrong on the
remote end (I know that this is how it used to operate).

We should rather fix the reason why we are not receiving back a UID. At
the very, very least I would prefer if we log a big fat error warning in
this situation, so that the user can check and take action.
