It's not just a folder named spam, it is a doveot server with the
antispam plugin, which expliitely prevents us from appending.

What you can do is to locally move them to a spam-local folder or so,
which will sync just fine. Personally, I don't see any easy way to work
around that, especially as the spam folder might be even called
completely different sometimes, I guess.

The only workaround is to APPEND the message to some other Mailbox and
then move it over to the spam folder on the server. But that sounds like
a very fragile hack to me.

What can we do if the server effectively marks a certain folder as
read-only for us...?
