OK, I will now send a version that protects us against python 2.5 ssl
import errors. We will just not output SSL related error messages in
this case.

BTW, this patch also protects against the 111 connection refused as a
side-effect, so I am not sure if the other patch is absoutely required
that Nicolas created some time ago (but will also not hurt to have it).
