Accountname-Folder-and-Uid should be fine, yes.

Content will be mostly the same (except when someone's mailer is
 broken), but not necessarily. Think a mail that goes to a Mailing list
 that you are subscribed to and where you are CC'd. They will have
 different Received-by headers etc. as they took different paths.

I won't be using it, but I can see that some people might want to use
it, and another backend is easy to keep if it is as simple as yours.
