This code would throw an FOLDER_RETRY error, and the calling code would
need to take care of erroring out if the error occurs more than once or

But even if we retried indefinitely, this would not be so bad, as the
IMAP4.abort() exception is documented in imaplib as: 
   "abort" exceptions imply the connection should be reset, and
            the command re-tried.
