version 6.5.3: ['[ALREADYEXISTS] Duplicate folder name (Failure)

I need to correct and clarify a little, I think.

On the machine on which I wrote that last report, I had actually
installed from a tarball, rather than git. So the problem is in
both 6.5.3 and 6.5.3.1.

I also reported the problem when I first encountered it but had
forgotten to clear the caches. I then removed the local (empty)
problem directories, and the problem went away. I then reported back
to the list that there was no problem. Since then it has
happened on other machines and is not corrected by cache clearing.

Hope that is not confusing.
