Sounds like one of the the issues I had when I upgraded to 6.4.0 ---
which had me reveert to 6.3.4.  Thanks for the fix.

(and sorry for not finding time to look into this; my itch was "have
a working mail setup", and downgrading addressed it sufficiently.)
