Can't recover from broken ssh connection.

Hi,

I'm using offlineimap with the ssh preauth tunnel to connect to a dovecot 
server. I am using 'autorefresh' to keep it running and do periodic syncs.

This is fine, unless the network goes down and the ssh connection is dropped. 
When this happens, I get this output from offlineimap:

Syncing Folder1: IMAP -> Maildir
Syncing Folder2: IMAP -> Maildir
Syncing Folder3: IMAP -> Maildir
*** Finished account 'Personal' in 0:18
*** Processing account Personal
Attempting NOOP on dropped connection ssh -q server.com 'sudo 
/usr/lib/dovecot/imap -u username' 
Establishing connection to tunnel:ssh -q server.com 'sudo 
/usr/lib/dovecot/imap -u username'
Attempting NOOP on dropped connection ssh -q server.com 'sudo 
/usr/lib/dovecot/imap -u username' 

And offlineimap freezes and doesn't check again.

Hitting Ctrl-C displays:

Terminating NOW (this may take a few seconds)...

But then offflineimap sits there indefinitely, and doesn't exit unless I kill 
-9 it.

Can offlineimap recover from a broken ssh connection?
