A (probably somewhat stupid) question about "reinstalling" offlineimap

Hi all,

I understand that if I remove everything from my ~/Maildir, the next
run of offlineimap will purge my emails on the remote account.  Do I
get it correctly that in order to prevent it, it is sufficient to
remove my ~/.offlineimap directory?
