How to remove Control Characters (^M) - Cygwin

Hi, 

I'm using Offlineimap in Cygwin. Cron is running as a windows service which in turn runs Offlineimap every 3 min.

My problem is that a control character (^M) appears at the end of some lines within messages.

How do fix it so that they don't appear?

I checked Google first and Gmane but didn't return anything.
