It really looks like offlineimap open more than one socket at a time. I
think there are too many connections (see maxconnections in the
configuration file).

It seems this provider allows limited open connections. Most of the
providers have such limitations but the maximum allowed may vary.

Usually, the providers (randomly?) close opened socket ("connection
closed") when new ones are started while their max is reached.

If lowering the maxconnections (down to 1 for some tests) does not help,
please provide your offlineimap version, too.
