Hi

This is not a bug, it is a feature. The reason for this question
is that nova-common use dbconfig-common to ask for the database
type and then modify the configuration file accordingly.

This is a help to the user and not a bug. Therefore closing
this one now.

The statement in the mail to the development list is wrong.
Install scripts can modify configuration files if it is done
in a safe way preserving local modifications.

Due to this I'm closing this bug now.
