Images prepared for AWS should work on OpenStack. But preparing image in
a format like RAW or QCOW2 is likely a good idea too for OpenStack.

However, I don't think it's the best idea to host them under the
OpenStack umbrella; this kind of images could be used under any
platform, not just OpenStack. Ubuntu calls their images "cloud" and
don't put any stamp on them, I think it'd be a good choice to do the
same.

In the end, working on a tool like the one used by Ubuntu to build
automatically would be an even better project! :)
