[Openstack-devel] Bug#708747: [BTS#708747] templates://ceilometer/{ceilometer-api.templates} : Final update for English review

Sat Jun 15 06:49:27 UTC 2013

Dear Debian maintainer,

On Wednesday, May 22, 2013, I notified you of the beginning of a review process
concerning debconf templates for ceilometer.

The debian-l10n-english contributors have now reviewed these templates,
and the final proposed changes are attached to this update to the
original bug report.

Please review the suggested changes, and if you have any
objections, let me know in the next 3 days.

However, please try to avoid uploading ceilometer with these changes
right now.

The second phase of this process will begin on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, when I will
coordinate updates to translations of debconf templates.

The existing translators will be notified of the changes: they will
receive an updated PO file for their language.

Simultaneously, a general call for new translations will be sent to
the debian-i18n mailing list.

Both these calls for translations will request updates to be sent as
individual bug reports. That will probably trigger a lot of bug
reports against your package, but these should be easier to deal with.

The call for translation updates and new translations will run until
about Tuesday, July 09, 2013. Please avoid uploading a package with fixed or changed
debconf templates and/or translation updates in the meantime. Of
course, other changes are safe.

Please note that this is an approximative delay, which depends on my
own availability to process this work and is influenced by the fact
that I simultaneously work on many packages.

Around Wednesday, July 10, 2013, I will contact you again and will send a final patch
summarizing all the updates (changes to debconf templates,
updates to debconf translations and new debconf translations).

Again, thanks for your attention and cooperation.

Template: ceilometer/register-endpoint
Type: boolean
Default: false
_Description: Register Ceilometer in the Keystone endpoint catalog?
Each OpenStack service (each API) should be registered in order to be
accessible. This is done using "keystone service-create" and "keystone
endpoint-create". This can be done automatically now.
 .
Note that you will need to have an up and running Keystone server on which to
connect using the Keystone authentication token.

Template: ceilometer/keystone-ip
Type: string
_Description: Keystone server IP address:
Please enter the IP address of the Keystone server, so that ceilometer-api can
contact Keystone to do the Ceilometer service and endpoint creation.

Template: ceilometer/keystone-auth-token
Type: password
_Description: Keystone authentication token:
To configure its endpoint in Keystone, ceilometer-api needs the Keystone
 authentication token.

Template: ceilometer/endpoint-ip
Type: string
_Description: Ceilometer endpoint IP address:
Please enter the IP address that will be used to contact Ceilometer.
 .
This IP address should be accessible from the clients that will use this
service, so if you are installing a public cloud, this should be a public
 IP address.

Template: ceilometer/region-name
Type: string
Default: regionOne
_Description: Name of the region to register:
OpenStack supports using availability zones, with each region representing
a location. Please enter the zone that you wish to use when registering the
 endpoint.
