Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case:

    cfg.StrOpt(
        'pybasedir',
        default=os.path.abspath(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__),
                                             '../')),
                                             ensure_absolute_url
        help='Directory where the designate python module is installed'
    ),

ie. it's missing sample_default='<Path>' that was in my patch.
