[Openstack-devel] Which version of OpenStack should we package?

Hi Thomas and all,
    with wheezy froze in June, i think that the best target to package
should be essex (2012-1) which will be released in April. But, with wheezy
release 6 months later (February 2013), wheezy will be released with 2
versions behind of openstack. In a so fasting moving environment (3
releases per year), Debian releases every 2 years is a real handicap.

So my proposal: OpenStack essex release (April 2012) is going to be the
first ready for production deployments, and due to Debian schedule, the
most according to release with will be that. Apart form that, we can
prepare "oficial" backports of future Openstack releases. If wheezy freeze
delays  (it's Debian, this is going to happen), the next Openstack release
should be around September, and since frozen states take several months,
maybe we can try to push the new release.
