This patch does not make sense.  MD devices do not contain partition 
tables.  Have you tested this at all?  It looks like this would result 
in an attempt to write a partition table to the device then fail trying 
to update the running kernel partition table ( which there is none ) 
using BLKRRPART or BLKPG, and a reboot would not recognize any such 
partitions.
