Håkon is correct.  From parted (and libparted) version 3.0 and upwards, the file system specific code has been removed.

The GParted project; however, is a separate project that uses both libparted and external file system tools.  If you are aware of tools to resize btrfs file systems, then please feel free to open a new GParted bug report and provide details.
