Not only that, but Brian also had the following (non-standard) header
field in the mails on which “double replies” happened:

   Mail-Followup-To: "Brian C. Lane" <bcl at redhat.com>,
    parted-devel at alioth-lists.debian.net,
    parted-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org

Some MUAs might have picked that up when replying...
