Acording to the attached partman.gz file in Bug#249371 after the
following two commands the value of disk->type->name is "loop":

dev = ped_device_get("/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc");
/* we check that dev != NULL here */
disk = ped_disk_new(dev);

The partition table however is msdos.

libparted has detected the partition table in this way:

dev->model = "HITACHI_DK23CA-20"
dev->path = "/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc"
dev->sector_size = 512
dev->length = 39070080
dev->sectors = 63
dev->heads = 255
dev->cylinders = 2432
disk->type->name = "loop"

There is one partition in this "loop" partition table:

part->num = 1
(part->geom).start = 0
(part->geom).end = 39070079
(part->geom).length = 39070080
part->fs_type->name = "fat16"

Notice that this partition is too big to be fat16. Probably by accident
there were somewhere some fat16 signatures in it.
