Version: 1.7.1-5.1
Severity: wishlist
Hi,
in order to support multipath'ed block devices in d-i (and on the
installed system) we have to be able to distinct them from other device
maps such as lvm. I've attached a patch that uses the current device
naming policy as imposed by #440439 to determine if a device is a
multipath device. A better fix would be to link a against libdevmapper
and to determine the map type (that would help the lvm2 in libparted
code too), let me know if this would be the way to go for 1.8 (but since
1.8 still has the lvm2 patch I doubt the code changed much in that
area).
Without this patch we can't support multipathed devices at all in d-i so
please apply. It shouldn't break any existing since lvm devices contains
a '-' sign between the vg and lv.
Cheers,
-- Guido
