Current unstable and latest upstream has diverged a bit; last release
is at experimental and would be very good to update it to it, so we
can propose it upstream.

I've tried to do that mysel but the last conflicting hook let me in
doubt, so I prefer if you take a look at it.

Please take a look once you have time and if possible, send it to
parted-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org for discussion with upstream.
