Please don't do that.  The -ignore tags are the domain of the Release
Team and shouldn't be altered without agreement.

I don't know partman well enough to know whether your suggestions on how
to modify it to better support your scenario are easily integrateable
(is that even a word?), although it does sound like it might be quite a
large change to try and make to squeeze's d-i now that it's released.
Certainly adding significant new translatable text tends not to be
straight forward.
