Justification: By failing to provide fair warning to users and
potential users that there is a known bug that may irreversibly
break another operating system and could potentially cause
irretrievable data loss, the Debian powerpc installer is displaying
behavior I expect from a severe Trojan, not the stable version of a
well-established operating system that is allegedly easy to use.
The workaround involving Mac OS Classic's "Update Drivers"
function, besides not being formally documented, no longer
supported by Apple, and impossible to support by Debian, does not
always work. My workaround, besides being horribly convoluted and
likely too difficult for a beginning *nix user (or one who has
always used Gnome or KDE and avoided venturing into the shell), can
only be performed on initial installation and cannot fix an already
broken computer. In short, ignoring this bug, without even taking
even the minimal action of providing users a loud and clear warning
of this potential disaster, is unconscionable. If you're short on
translators, then for heaven's sake, use a computer-automated one.
Better a warning with poor grammar than no warning at all.
