Package: perl-doc
Version: 5.10.0-19lenny2
Severity: important
With Debian-Etch there was a perldoc-Program for reading (for example)
integrated docs in Spamassassin-Modules. After upgrading to Debian Lenny, it's
gone.
There's a /usr/bin/perldoc.stub which emits the following message:
You need to install the perl-doc package to use this program.
Unfortunately, exactly this perldoc.stub comes from the already installed
perl-doc package:
hostname ~ $ dpkg -S /usr/bin/perldoc.stub
diversion by perl-doc from: /usr/bin/perldoc
diversion by perl-doc to: /usr/bin/perldoc.stub
So I don't have a working perldoc to read docs and can't find a substitute for
it.
On a second, also upgraded machine with no previous install of perldoc, there
was this very same stub but named perldoc. Installing perl-doc on that box did
the right thing and perldoc was available again.
The Problem on the first machine has been fixed with a reinstall of perl-doc.
So I think, it's a package-bug.
