Allowing non-ASCII paired brackets seems to me like a can of worms
best unopened. I'm sure the Unicode table has plenty of surprising
bracket pairs.
The 'Gory details of parsing quoted constructs' in perlre.pod explicitly
lists all the bracketing punctuations, so this is working as designed.
I don't see much chance for (or point in) getting this implemented,
but please push it upstream yourself if you care.
