Thanks. We've judged the patch to be OK, and it's queued waiting
for release team preapproval of other changes for 5.14.2-15.
See #691185. Sorry, I should've noted that here earlier.

More review and testing is always welcome of course, but feel
free to do the cost/benefit analysis yourself :)
