(Yes, I am running them on my desktop now with no ill effect).

I've now pushed the second set of changes to alioth, and will upload
to s-p-u later today unless anyone has any objections (sorry about
the late entry here; I had flagged the 5.14.4 change mentally ages ago
but then forgot about them earlier in the week).
