But that output is from multiple commands, I'm only limiting each
individual command.

Done anyway.

I also fixed the read() call, I need to do it in a loop as I may not get
my buffer filled completely depending on the output buffering behavior
of the command.

PS: that bug actually crashed my machine once :-) kernel got stuck
because oom killer did not find any process left to kill
