Not sure why the deterministic name is a problem.
The current slave working dir is /var/lib/piuparts/slave/0.
multiple-slaves supports slaves identified as 0 through 9, using
/var/lib/piuparts/slave/<n>.
How about /var/tmp/piuparts/<n> or /var/tmp/piuparts-slave<n>?
$tmpdir/piuparts-slave<n>?
