also "internal" etckeeper is not useful for distupgrade tests (that run
two upgrade passes, the first produces a minimal dist-upgraded reference
system - this is where the /etc reference should be taken, be it git or
copy or ...
And if we are doing "external" etckeeper, we could "snapshot" /etc every
time custom scripts are being run, maybe even before and after. That
should give a view how /etc evolved and when the changes were introduced.
For an external etckeeper we should use two branches: reference and
actual upgrade.
