You should get adequate into bookworm-backports, then it should be 
rather easy to update the DSA's piuparts slave config to pull adequate 
from -backports instead of stable.

(the piuparts version on piuparts.d.o itself comes from git, but since 
the machines run stable, all dependencies must come from stable or 
backports)

Disclaimer: the last time I looked into getting some newer dependencies 
for piuparts installed was in bullseye or buster ...
