Hi, I just uploaded version 1.1 of pico2wave to this repo:

This version converts text from stdin, silently truncating it if it exceeds 32766 characters.
In this way at least there is no crash.

I also created a man page using markdown to document the new feature.

You can use node-marked-man to convert the markdown to man page format (see README).
In this way there is no need to use help2man.

We'll implement the chunking later if possible ...

P.S. IMHO it would make sense to separate the libttspico-utils binary package from the svox source package.
In this way it would have its own version number, plus the code would not be in a patch 
but in plaintext.
