But espeakup is using espeak-ng (which is maintained, contrary to
espeak). I indeed get an issue when using espeak-ng:

$ espeak-ng -v mb-es1 "Hola mundo" 
mbrola: Warning: d-o/ unkown, replaced with _-_
mbrola: Warning: o/-_ unkown, replaced with _-_

I have forwarded to upstream https://github.com/espeak-ng/espeak-ng/issues/566
