I'm relieved that you did commit the 1.0.6 sources in git when doing
the initial import; I think you simply didn't push the upstream branch
until today: I just git pulled again and got:
* [new branch] upstream -> origin/upstream
* [new tag] upstream/1.0.8 -> upstream/1.0.8
Now that I see the 1.0.6 -> 1.0.8 diff, I think it's hard to tell
whether it's too large for the release team to review for lenny; I
think it's reviewable, but I'm not sure we can find someone from the
release who could be bothered to review it in full. :-/ If you think
it can make it, then it would certainly be nice to get it in lenny, it
really has a pile of nice cleanups and bug fixes such as checking the
return code of misc syscalls.
Perhaps we should get the init rewrite in before though?
The good news is that it merges some of our changes (not from us
though): logging and -D_GNU_SOURCE at least, lock file (from us),
some man page fixes.
