Package: acpi
Version: 1.5-2
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze sid

Symptoms: Using the keyboard function keys to increase or decrease
brightness causes the entire system to hang Need to do a hard
restart Restarting the system causes the laptop monitor brightness
to increase to maximum Gnome-power-manager not effective in this
case. Thought that this was a conflict between different power
management packages but not sure about how to verify

Workaround: Before logging in, switch to ctrl-alt-F1
Reduce brightness. Switch back to ctrl-alt-F7
