I don't know a "standard way" for lxde. Even in case there is, then it
won't work for non-gui operation. ACPI can.

Unfortunately not - without the setkeycodes I get the following output
with kacpimon:

I am not that familiar with acpi - is there another way to map these
events to the video/brightness/* event without the "setkeycodes"?
