   Thanks for the bug report.

   The man page explains what happens if the /proc/acpi/events file does 
not exist:

"If the events file does not exist, acpid will attempt to connect to the
Linux kernel via the input layer and netlink."

So the man page covers both old and modern kernels.

   Michael, I recommend closing this.
