Great. These enhancements are looking nice.

Thanks a lot to the patch. Unfortunately its arriving at a lets say not
really defined point in time. The acpi package is in the defered
queue[1] and will hit the Debian archive tomorrow with the patch
provided by Thorsten Glaser. I do not really want to stop this, change
the package and upload again.

I'm really happy about new contributions. So lets proceede as follows:

 1. Wait
    a) for acpi 1.7-2 in unstable
    b) for you having access to Salsa
 2. Write a new bug report against acpi 1.7-2 to document the further
enhancement (needs only waiting for a))
 3. Acpi will be in debian/ team space and I can either grant you
permissions there or you file a MR - whatever you prefer.
Please make sure the patch will apply cleanly - it has some
    conflict with Thorsten's patch.
 4. Ping me once all this is done and I'll sponsor the new package
    on behalf of yours.

I hope you like this plan and thank you for your contribution
   Andreas.
