No, acpi only reads the standard
/sys/class/{power_supply/{BAT,AC},thermal/{thermal_zone,cooling_device}}
interfaces that Linux exposes.
(And /proc/acpi/{battery,ac_adapter,thermal_zone,fan}
I suppose but that's nigh-undocumented and very much obsolete x86 magic
that's at best equivalent to the standard interface.)
If your /sys/class/thermal/ has an invalid read-out, this is a Linux bug.
