Doing "make" and then "make install" in /usr/src/modules/alsa-driver
installs the modules at the wrong place.

They should be installed in

   /lib/modules/2.4.24/kernel/drivers/sound

but instead the are installed as

   /lib/modules/2.4.24/kernel/sound

A simple mv of the sound directory into the drivers directory and a
reboot solves the problem.

Hi,

Firstly, I don't condone installing the ALSA modules using
make and make install when alsa-source exists and gives you a new .deb
to install, but your problem is easily solved by calling ./configure
with --with-moddir=/lib/modules/2.4.24/kernel/drivers/sound

Cheers,
