I have for some time been trying to track down why kicker (the KDE
panel) and occasionally other apps such as firefox crash when my laptop
resumes from sleep. I finally tracked it down to ALSA's
/etc/apm/event.d script. If I put exit 0 at the top of it, my system is
completely fine. If I let it run, kicker crashes every time it resumes
from sleep, and firefox does on occasion too.
